She’d give a Bafta to: “Ben Whishaw. He’s so brillant and quirky without even trying. I just watched all the things he’s done on Youtube. Yes, slightly obsessed.”
- Karen Gillan for InStyle UK March 2012
Aww yeah. Even Karen Gillan loves Ben.

Ben's Hamlet at the V&A
I had meant to post a reminder to all London-folk to check out the screening of Ben’s 2004 Hamletat the Victoria and Albert Museum, which was today. Slipped my mind—oops! The lovely RevStan went and did a little write up on her blog that you might want to check out. If any other readers went, please share your thoughts in either the comments or with a reblog.

Finally: The Tempest Hits DVD
On December 20, the long-awaited DVD of Julie Taymor’s The Tempest was released.
I was really looking forward to sharing some screencaps of the delightful rehearsal and behind-the-scenes footage on the DVD, but unfortunately, the disc is embedded with some kind of DRM that disables taking any images.
I understand wanting to thwart piracy, but I feel the need to go on a little rant here. ...

Tidbit Roundup
Holiday season is killer, so I’ve been a little MIA. Here are a few little news bits that have popped up recently.
First, The Guardian envies Ben’s hair (who doesn’t?)
Next, Ben made the Red Pages’ 2012 Hot 100 List. Nice too see out man get a little notice! It looks like they’re mainly excited about Ben’s upcoming turn as Q in Skyfall.

Ben Whishaw is Officially Q in Skyfall
The Sun was the first to report this yesterday, so I didn’t really take that much notice, since rumors had already been around. BUT today, every news outlet and their mother picked up the story, with a claim that “his agent has confirmed” the news: Ben will take on the role of Q—head of Q branch and gadget maestro to Bond—in Skyfall.
What this will mean for...

Richard II Goodies!
The BBC has been busy trumpeting all their 2012 programming lately, with some nice little goodies from Ben’s Richard II being revealed. The photo above comes from this particular article, and there are more details here and here. Ben had this to say about the production: “Playing Richard II has been a hugely rewarding experience. Working on this beautiful play with Rupert Goold and an...

Cock Available for Listening for 6 More Days
The radio adaptation of Mike Bartlett’s Cock aired on Radio 3 on Sunday, and it’s available for listening for the next few days over at the program site. Even U.S. folks can listen, so I think it’s pretty thoroughly internationally available. Happy listening! I’ll get around to it hopefully tomorrow.
And I thought this pic was cool—I’ve seen plenty of...

SKYFALL 007
Hello!
I heard a news that the very first scenes of Skyfall will be shut in Istanbul, at some historical spots ilke The Blue Mosque and also in some coastal areas in Turkey.
Do you have any information, if possible robust one, about that? Cause if it is true, then I would love to know if Ben would possibly be in one of these scenes, which would mean that he will be coming to Turkey!
Thank you...

– The only information regarding Ben’s involvement from Sam Mendes at the Skyfall (Bond 23) press conference this morning.
But hey, it’s a confirmation! And they hinted that the reason for not revealing his character’s name may be the fact that it is a recognizable one to Bond...

Bond 23 Press Conference 11/3
FYI the official James Bond kick-off press conference hosted by the production team will be tomorrow (today already for much of the world) at 11:45am GMT. Not sure what channels will report, probably a bunch? Hopefully we’ll get a confirmation on Ben’s participation and some more information about his role and the production. I’m not a super big Bond follower, but from what I...
