John Keats: I had such a dream last night. I was floating above the trees with my lips connected to those of a beautiful figure, for what seemed like an age. Flowery treetops sprung up beneath us and we rested on them with the lightness of a cloud.
Fanny Brawne: Who was the figure?
John Keats: I must have had my eyes closed because I can’t remember.
Fanny Brawne: And yet you remember the treetops.
John Keats: Not so well as I remember the lips.
Fanny Brawne: Whose lips? Were they my lips?

I was going to post the Valentine scene in honor of Valentine’s Day, but Pathe blocked it on Youtube….  Oh well, the first kiss scene is better.

I really thoroughly love all three of these people.

Working with Jane part 2.

So my plea for help the other day was worth it!  The LOVELY—and I mean really, truly, spectacularly lovely—andibgoode answered my call and sent me the Working with Jane documentary.  I’m in the process of uploading the second part to Youtube, but in the mean time, here’s part one.

For those who don’t know, this is a documentary by Paola Morabito (director’s assistant) featuring behind-the-scenes footage from Bright Star and interviews with Ben Whishaw, Abbie Cornish, composer Mark Bradshaw, DOP Greig Fraser, and Jane Campion, herself.

My eternal love and devotion to andibgoode—everyone give her a hand!

Calling all Brits and Aussies

I need your help.  I need your help.  This is an open call to anyone who owns the UK or Australian DVD of Bright Star.  Apparently, these videos and these pictures are from the special features one might find on these editions of the DVD.

Sadly, one does not find them on the crummy, stupid, frustrating US version.  I would love to see all of these special features, but I have been dying to see one.  Just one:  Working with Jane, the documentary by Paola Morabito.  I was a film major in my undergrad and did extensive research on Jane Campion, and combine this with my love of Ben Whishaw—I’ve been desperate to see this since hearing of it.  I even went as far as contacting an Australian library to see if I could arrange borrowing a copy.  No dice.

Would anyone (a kind, beautiful soul, surely) be willing to upload this documentary somewhere where I might be able to watch it?  Please?  In return, I will love you forever.  I will bake you a cake.  I will post whatever the heck you want to see on this blog.

Pass it on.  You know you all want to see it.

Behind the scenes video of Bright Star I’ve never seen before.  This person’s Youtube Channel has all kinds of Ben goodies—some I’ve seen before, others I haven’t, all lovely.
