The Making of a King - The Hollow Crown DVD Special Features

Found this shortly after lamenting it wasn’t available and now finally have time to post this!  This is part 1 of 4 of the Hamlet episode of Shakespeare Uncovered in which Ben Whishaw appeared last week.

Part 2, Part 3, Part 4

[and thanks to pirillipirollo for sending in notice!]

Shakespeare Uncovered

Beginning next Tuesday, June 19, BBC will start airing a series calledShakespeare Uncovered , which will be six episodes, each exploring particular Shakespeare plays.  Ben will appear—along with David Tennant, Simon Russell Beale, and Jude Law—in theHamlet  episode.

Ben hasn’t done a lot of talking about Hamlet since he appeared in the play back in 2004, so this should be great to see!

The Hamlet episode will air on July 14.

(In other news, I think I missed posting this—Ben’s Richard II  will air on June 30 on BBC2, no word on a time yet.)

Peter and Alice: Ben Joins The Michael Grandage Company

Stage director Michael Grandage is embarking on an ambitious season, having assembled a slew of fantastic actors to star in a series of plays that will be presented over a 14 month period beginning in December.

Amongst the names:  Simon Russell Beale, Judi Dench, Jude Law, Daniel Radcliffe, Sheridan Smith, David Walliams, and Ben Whishaw.

The Daily Mail has got the information.  The John Logan-penned, Judi Dench-starring Alice/Peter project we recently heard about is Ben’s project.  It is entitled Peter and Alice, and tells the story of the potential meeting of Alice Liddell Hargreaves and Peter Llewelyn Davies, who inspired Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan, respectively.

Peter and Alice will play at the Noel Coward Theatre from March 9 to June 1 of next year.  The creators are set on having affordable tickets, so seats will start at 10 pounds!

This is really close to being worth a trip to London….shall I start saving now?
